STORIES FROM OUR LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
Kentaro Wada, head bartender of The Bar at The Ritz‑Carlton, Tokyo, and award-winning mixologist, became interested in mixology from an early age. "I remember how I used to enjoy mixing juices when I was just six years of age. To me, becoming a bartender was like a dream come true," he says.

His signature drink: Flower of Delight, an elegant chamomile-infused drink inspired by a bride's wedding bouquet and made with gin, elderflower cordial, lemon juice, egg white, and house-made flower syrup.

THE WELCOME OF THE STARS
Each dusk at The Ritz‑Carlton, Xi'an, a celestial ceremony takes place. A traditional curved horn is blown thrice in a distinguished welcome to visitors, after which a maiden seated at a fireplace strums a pipa, the pear-shaped instrument that came to China via the Silk Road. A proclamation then follows ("The night is on!") and local refreshments usher in guests—and an inspiring evening.

A PROCESSION OF LIGHT
For 400 years, The Tree of Life has thrived, miraculously, in a desert with no known water source. In homage, a noise-making parade sets out nightly from The Ritz‑Carlton, Bahrain, lighting a nearby tree with candles and lanterns, a salute to the magic of life.
